National Women’s Month Celebration




On March 31, 2026, under the leadership of Dir. Ramon M. Rañeses, MNSA, CESO IV, Regional Director of NAPOLCOM, a culminating activity of the National Women’s Month Celebration was successfully conducted. Atty. Kathleen Keith R. Benzon in her message, highlighted the vital role of women in public service, emphasizing empowerment, gender equality, and the importance of creating inclusive spaces where women can lead and thrive. She underscored the continuing need to recognize women’s contributions across all sectors while advocating for sustained efforts toward gender-responsive governance.

“Zumbarrific Thursdays” (Tangngalat Taka)




On January 8, 2026, the NAPOLCOM Regional Office 2, under the leadership of Regional Director Ramon M. Rañeses, MNSA, CESO IV, launched “Zumbarrific Thursdays” (Tangngalat Taka), a wellness initiative spearheaded by the Gender and Development (GAD) Committee. In line with Republic Act No. 11036 or the Mental Health Act of 2018 and CSC Memorandum Circular No. 4, s. 2020, this dance-based stress management program aims to promote both physical fitness and mental well-being among employees.
By integrating regular, fun-filled Zumba sessions into the workweek, the program fosters resilience, boosts morale, and reinforces NAPOLCOM RO2’s commitment to cultivating a healthy, motivated, and productive workforce.

18-Day Campaign to end Violence Against Women (VAW)

NAPOLCOM Regional Office 2 joins the observance of the 18-Day Campaign to end Violence Against Women (VAW) from November 25-December 12, 2025.
For 2025, the Campaign highlights the need for a whole-of-nation approach—calling on every Filipino—regardless of gender, age, or background, to actively speak up, take action to prevent violence, support survivors, promote justice and push for meaningful change.
Ending VAW is a collective responsibility that calls on all of us to stand with women and girls in building a safer and more inclusive Bagong Pilipinas.

GAD Agenda Formulation Workshop Series and GAD Planning and Budgeting Workshop for FY 2026




The two-day workshop brought together GAD focal persons and planners from various government agencies to strengthen gender mainstreaming efforts and ensure the development of responsive, gender-sensitive programs for the upcoming fiscal year. Participants engaged in comprehensive sessions on crafting a results-based GAD Agenda, aligning initiatives with national policies, and integrating gender perspectives into agency plans, programs, and budgets.
Through facilitated discussions, collaborative group activities, and expert presentations, Atty. Benzon gained updated insights on gender analysis tools, harmonized GAD guidelines, and effective strategies for monitoring and evaluating GAD-related interventions. The workshop also provided an avenue to exchange best practices and enhance inter-agency coordination in advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment.

On March 14, 2024, the NAPOLCOM Regional Office 02 organized a Basic Self-Defense training session as one of its activities for the 2024 National Women’s Month Celebration. The training aimed to empower women and promote their capabilities under the sub-theme “Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas; Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patutunayan!” (Equal Society in the New Philippines; The Capability of Women, Proven!).
The Basic Self-Defense training session likely covered practical techniques and strategies for self-protection, situational awareness, and assertiveness training. Participants would have had the opportunity to learn valuable skills that enhance their confidence and resilience in various situations.
Overall, this event serves as a meaningful contribution to the National Women’s Month Celebration, emphasizing the importance of women's empowerment and their ability to thrive in an equal and just society.

Juana, Kumusta Ka?

NAPOLCOM Regional Office 2 Gender and Development (GAD) Committee, headed by Regional Director Manuel L. Pontanal as Chairperson, conducted the culminating activity for the 2023 National Women's Month Celebration titled: "Juana, Kumusta Ka?: Huntahan Tungkol sa mga Isyung Kinakaharap ng mga Kababaihan sa Trabaho, Pamilya, at Relasyon" on March 29, 2023.
The event was insightful and inspirational as participants exuded courage in sharing their struggles and pride in sharing their victories in life. Activities such as this contribute to the over-all wellbeing of employees, most especially for women in the workplace.





ZOOM-BA Fridays
In line with the celebration of the 2023 National Women's Month, NAPOLCOM Gender and Development (GAD) Committee at the Central Office holds "ZOOM-BA Fridays" every friday of March.
NAPOLCOM Regional Office 2 employees together with student-trainees from Cagayan State University-Aparri Campus and Apayao State College, actively participate in the activity every week virtually through Zoom. Employees from the Central Office and other regional offices also join in the fun and calorie-burning dancing that promotes over-all physical and mental wellness.

JUANA's BAZAARI-SARI STORE
Through the initiative of the NAPOLCOM Regional Office 2 Gender and Development (GAD) Committee, a bazaar which exhibits the products of mom-preneurs and businesspersons among the employees of the Office is open from March 28 to 31, 2023.
The event features and promotes innovative and inclusive economic opportunities, especially for women, towards the fulfillment of the objective of empowering them as they further themselves in various skillset.
This activity is in consonance with the commemoration of the 2023 National Women's Month Celebration with the hope and ambition that WE are all for Gender Equality, WE are all for an inclusive society.

ZUMBA FOR A CAUSE
On March 11, 2023, NAPOLCOM Regional Office 2 personnel, led by Atty. Grace Bennet B. Acorda, Police Regional Appellate Board (PRAB) Chairperson, together with Ma. Irene Isabela C. Cabel, Officer-in-Charge, Chief, Technical Services Division, Joseph F. Tamacay, Planning Officer III, Gemma L. Sales, Law Enforcement Officer III, Anna Carmina A. Paleg, Law Enforcement Officer II, Barry P. Lasam, Police Inspector II, and Atty. Melody L. Dayag, Financial Claims Examiner II, joined the Peñablanca Police Station and the Municipal Advisory Council in the fund raising activity ZUMBA FOR A CAUSE with the theme: “SAYAW KO, TULONG KO” of the project WE- SHARE (Willingness to Extend Support that will Help Ardent Student in Reaching their Envisioned dreams) held at the Peñablanca Municipal Office Grounds.
This activity aims to extend financial assistance and support to students from the municipality. It also aims to revitalize the physical well-being of those who participated.
